Turkey makes facemasks mandatory in more three governorates

Local authorities in the Turkish governorates of Istanbul, Ankara and Bursa have stated that people will have to don facemasks in public places to help control the spread of novel coronavirus. In separate statements on Wednesday, Istanbul, Ankara and Bursa governorships emphasized that violators of the new regulation will face fines and legal actions. It also urged people to adhere to social distancing rules, and to use facemask and sanitizers to help counter the deadly virus. With these new measures, wearing masks has become mandatory in 45 provinces. Turkey has so far confirmed 182,727 COVID-19 cases. A total of 4,861 people have died and 154,640 have recovered.
