Italy's Ministry of Health said on Saturday that
307 people died from the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and 23,641 others tested
positive for the illness over the past 24 hours.
The figures pushed the country's virus-induced death toll to 99,578 and the
overall infections to 3,046,762, the ministry said in a press release.
Hospitalizations rose to 20,701, including 2,571 ICU occupants, according
to the statement.
The number of people who received at least the first shot of the
coronavirus vaccine hit 5,231,708.
