Service Description
This service allows Kuwaiti, non-Kuwaiti and exceptional student categories to obtain an approval for their enrollment in governmental schools
Eligibility or Criteria
New Kuwaiti student registration at schools is confined to the following stages:
Kindergarten stage
Primary stage - first year primary only (for new students who did not join Kindergarten; whether governmental or private ones)
Note: The father has to register his son in person. Other parties are not allowed to register any student unless they have a power of attorney or a judgment
The following categories must be registered in the educational zone:
Kuwaiti students of a deceased father or a divorced mother
Students who are in the custody of a Kuwaiti family or living in social care houses
Kuwaiti students in the second year primary or older
Exceptional non-Kuwaiti student categories stated in the resolution issued by the Ministry of Education, including:
Children of a Kuwaiti mother married to a non-Kuwaiti
Children of the citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states
Children of diplomats
Children of non-Kuwaiti prisoners of war and martyrs
Children of the Yemeni community
Children of laboratory technicians and librarians working for governmental schools
Children of the teaching staff and employees working for the Arab Open University (AOU)
Children of the technical supervisors and teachers working for the Ministry of Education
Children of the teaching staff working for Kuwait University
Children of the teaching staff working for the technical institutes of the Ministry of Higher Education
Children of student social specialists working for governmental schools
Children of the teaching staff working for the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training
Children of the researchers working for Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research
Children of the teaching staff working for Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences
The following exceptional student categories are allowed to enroll in the Kindergarten stage:
Children of diplomats
Children of the teachers from the Gulf states
Children of researchers, librarians and technical supervisors from the Gulf states
Note: Students belonging to these categories are registered at the educational zone
Children of the following ages are allowed to enroll in the Kindergarten stage:
First Stage: For children of at least three years and six months of age at the beginning of the school year
Second Stage: For children not less than four years and six months of age at the beginning of the school year
Registration of Down Syndrome children in Kindergarten is allowed from four years and a half to seven years of age as per Decree No. (1568) of 13/9/1997
Students of the following ages are allowed to enroll in all stages of education from the first year primary till the twelfth year:
First year primary: From (6) six years to (9) nine years
Second year primary: From (7) seven years to (10) ten years
Third year primary: From (8) eight years to (11) eleven years
Fourth year primary: From (9) nine years to (12) twelve years
Fifth year primary: From (10) ten years to (13) thirteen years
Sixth year (Intermediate): From (11) eleven years to (14) fourteen years
Seventh year (Intermediate): From (12) twelve years to (15) fifteen years
Eighth year (Intermediate): From (13) thirteen years to (16) fifteen years
Ninth year (Intermediate): From (14) fourteen years to (17) fifteen years
Tenth year (Secondary): From (15) fifteen years to (18) eighteen years
Eleventh year (Secondary): From (16) sixteen years to (19) nineteen years
Twelfth year (Secondary): From (17) seventeen years to (20) twenty years
Note: New students are accepted in the primary stage, if they reached five years and half
New and re-enrolling students, who are six months younger at most than the specified age, are allowed to enroll in intermediate and secondary stages
Students transferred from private schools to public schools, who are six months and fifteen days younger at most than the specified age, are allowed to enroll in the intermediate and secondary stages
Each official document must be of two copies. Each copy of the document must be stamped by the school seal and include the phrase "true copy", then signed by the school director or the student affairs registrar
While registering, the birth date and the conformity between the numbers and the letters must be confirmed to avoid any mistakes. The conformity between the father's name as stated in the birth certificate and his name as stated in the nationality certificate must be confirmed. Moreover, the student's name must be written in full as per the birth certificate, even if his/her name exceeded ten names
The photo attached to the school application form must be sealed (half of the seal on the photo and the other on the application)
Required Documents
Original nationality certificate of the father, civil ID and two copies of
Original birth certificate of the student and two copies
Four (4) personal photos for the student (6 × 4)
Original civil ID of the student and two copies
Health card (including the student's checkup results proving his/her health fitness)
Documents required for Down Syndrome children to enroll in the Kindergarten stage
Medical report from Kuwait Medical Genetics Centre proving that the child suffers Down Syndrome stating the child's health condition and intelligence degree
Results of school health procedures
Eight (8) personal photos for the child
Original birth certificate of the child and two copies
Original civil ID of the child and the father and two copies
Procedures
Visit the Exam control and Student Affairs of the Ministry of Education in the Educational Zone the student refers to and submit the required documents
