CAIT Participates in the 21st Meeting of the E-Government Executive Committee of GCC (Riyadh)

The Kuwaiti delegation team of the Central Agency for Information Technology, and the accompanying delegation members attending the 21st meeting of the executive committee of the e-Government in the Gulf Cooperation Council were headed by Dr.Waleed Issa Al-Hassawi, a consultant specialized in information technology.
The head of the delegation gave his heartfelt thanks to Saudi Arabia for the hospitality and reception. He also thanked the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council for its organization, coordination, arrangement and preparation for the Gulf Cooperation Council meetings at all levels.
Within the agenda, Kuwait presented a worksheet for preparing a framework to issue a periodical report, covering the achievements of the e-Government in the cooperation council. This worksheet included the proposal of the framework through operative communication channels, passing on experience and knowledge and supporting the electronic integration among members.
This is to achieve the members’ vision and objectives and to connect them to the United Nations’ sustainable development objectives. Moreover, the introduction included the initiative objectives, the mechanism of collecting and analyzing data, and the issuance of the required reports.

Next March, Kuwait hosts IT GRC forum, under the auspices of the central agency of information technology at JW Marriott hotel, the main sponsor being Kuwaiti Digital Computer Company and CISCO Kuwait. The forum will attract specialists of this field from the government, banking, petroleum, financial auditing and ICT sectors.
“It’s important to have a strong technology for governance, risk management and compliance which would help integrate low-cost practices to manage risks in day-to-day business. In light of the increased awareness of governance, risk management and compliance technology in the Middle-East, we see the leading institutions leaning towards these system to achieve their expectations” said Eng. Qusai Al Shatti, Director-General of the Kuwaiti central agency of information technology (CAIT).
He also added: “governance, risk management and compliance systems create value and reduce costs in addition to an improved risk management. It gives the chance for institutions to automate processes, standardize and organize them and have complete visions of risks, governance and data analysis instantly in addition to improving the decision-making process and its impact on the business”.
Then he clarified “Over two days, the forum will discuss important paths in governance, risk management, compliance and privacy in information technology and information systems. It will host numerous specialists and consultants to enrich the forum content with their papers to further advance the experience and skills of all concerned”.

Anew eservice (The online portal system for Air Transport) has been added to the portal provided by Directorate General of Civil Aviation, which is aim to facilitate transactions related to the issuance of required approvals, for business transactions that belong to Air cargo companies and Travel & Tourism agencies. The system allows users to deal with all procedures related to Air Transport clients through e-services on the online portal.

The system aims to decrease time and effort. In addition, it aims to be a substitute for the revision done by the owners of the related agencies in the business sector with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation; in order to complete transactions related to Air Transport.
