HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah

Born in 1942. He has occupied several posts since 1968, including Amiri Diwan Financial and Administrative Affairs Auditor, Manager of the Department, and then assistant undersecretary of Administrative Affairs. He was named Hawally Governor in March 1979, then Al-Ahmadi Governor before occupying the portfolio of social affairs and labor, then the information top post and later became Advisor of His Highness the Amir Office. On February 14, 2001, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak was named the deputy prime minister and minister of defense, and occupied the same posts in the government, formed on July 14, 2003. On February 9, 2006, he was named the first deputy prime minister and interior minister and minister of defense. He occupied the same posts in the two governments, formed on July 11, 2006 and March 25, 2007. His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak, on October 28, 2007, in a cabinet reshuffle, was named the first deputy prime minister and minister of defense. He was re-appointed in the same positions in successive governments, formed in May 2008, January 2009, May 2009 and May 2011, until the government resigned on November 28, 2011 and then he was appointed as the Prime Minister by an Amiri Ordar on November 30, 2011. His Highness was re-appointed in the same position in governments, formed in July 2012, November 2017, and lastly on November 1, 2017 when an Amiri Order was issued to appoint His Highness the Prime Minister, and mandate him to appoint members of the new government.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister and Minister of Defence Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah

Born on April 27, 1948. He is the eldest son of His Royal Highness the Prince of Kuwait. He occupied several posts, including the Special Chancellor of his Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister, pursuant to Amiri Decree issued on December 7, 1999, and the Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs, pursuant to Amiri Decree issued on February 11, 2006. His Excellency is active in the area of trade and investment, and established Al Fotouh Holding Company and Kuwait Projects Holding Company. Besides, he was interested in culture; He established Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah (DAI), the Kuwaiti cultural organization operating the archaeological al-Sabah Collection and he is a member of board of director of the Metropolitan Museum-New York. He is the founder and a member of the Kuwaiti Public Funds Protection Committee.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah

Born in 1953. He holds a BS in political science from Kuwait University in 1977. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1978 as a Diplomatic Attaché to the Department of Arab Affairs in the political administration from 1978 to 1983. He was a Member of the Permanent delegation of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York from 1983 to 1989. He was the ambassador to Saudi Arabia and delegate of the State of Kuwait to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in the period from 1995 to 1998, during which he participated in the meetings of the cabinet for GCC Ministers of Foreign Affairs. He was awarded King Abdul Aziz Order of Merit first class in 1998. In 1998, a decree issued to appoint His Excellency as Chairman of the National Security Apparatus with the rank of Minister. In July 2006 and March 2007, he was appointed as Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, then Minister of Information in May 2008 and January 2009. In January 2014, an Amiri decree issued to appoint His Excellency as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and was appointed to the same positions in December 2016.

Gradually climbed ranks of the military echelon, reaching the post of Lieutenant General and was named Chief of Staff on March 4, 2012, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense in the government formed in July 2013, and Minister of Defense in the government formed in January 2014. On November 30, 2016, His Excellency was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Khaled Al-Saleh

Born in 1972. He holds BA in Business Administration from the University of Portland, the US (1997), and served as a board member of Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in 2006-10. He also served as the board chairman and managing director of Kuwait Invest Holding Company (KSCC) in 2006, a board member of Kuwait Real-Estate Company in 2003, director of Gulf Financial Brokerage Company in 1997, and a board member in Financial Services Group Company from 2000 to 2003. He was named Minister of Commerce and Industry in the 31st government in February 2012, and was reappointed to same position in governments of December 2012 and July 2013. Also, he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in January 2014, Acting Minister of Oil in November 2015, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in December 2016.

Holds BS in Computer Science and Statistics in 1981. She was assistant undersecretary of Civil Service Commission in 2007. In 2008, she was appointed Secretary General of Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP). In 2012, she was named Director General of Kuwait Industries Union. She was appointed Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning and Development Affairs in January 2014. In December 2016, an Amiri Decree issued to appoint her Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Economic Affairs.

Born in 1959. He holds BS in Civil Engineering from Arab Academy for Science and Technology. He served as a Chairman and a managing director for Kuwait Pipe Industries and Oil Services Company, and Assistant Director-General of Kuwait Aluminum Industries Company. He also served on Municipal Council in 2005, and was named as the president of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations and Federation of Arab Engineers. From 2013 to 2016, he was a member in the National Assembly. In October 2015, he was named the Secretary General of the Assembly, by acclamation.

Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basel Hamoud Al-Hamad Al-Sabah

Born in Kuwait in 1974. He holds BS in Medicine from Kuwait University, and in 2006 he had a Ph.D of Canadian Medical Board in Otolaryngology from the Canadian McGill University. He occupied several positions in Kuwait’s hospitals, such as an otolaryngology Consultant in Zain Hospital, and the Head of otolaryngology departments from 2012 and till now. Period between 2010 and 2012, he was the director of Sheikh Salim Al-Ali Al-Sabah Speech and Audiology Therapy Centre. He worked as a lecturer in Faculty of Medicine in Kuwait University and participated in many foreign conferences on his field of specialization.

Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khalid Naser Abdullah Al-Rodan

Born in 25 May 1978. He holds a BA in Business Administration, specialized in financing and financial entities from Kuwait University. He carried out many government strategies in commerce and industry; with an outstanding achievement in registering trading companies, developing small and medium enterprises, and establishing Kuwait Business Center (The single-window system). While acting as a Minister, he worked on improving Boursa Kuwait to be classified as an emerging market by FTSE Russell for 2017. He contributed to proposing the new sports law which resulted in restarting Kuwait football activities once again by FIFA after a termination that lasted for two years. He was also the vice chairman of the higher organizing committee of the 23rd Arabian Gulf Cup held in Kuwait. He was rehired as the Minister of Commerce and Industry and the Minister of State for Youth Affairs in December 2017.

Holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from Kuwait University, and a PH.D from Ain Shams University in Cairo. She was assigned to the membership in Municipal Council from 2009 to 2013. She served as a chancellor at the National Assembly in the Public Facilities Committee from 2014 to 2016. Besides, she is a member in the Central Agency for Public Tenders since 2016 and till now. She was a member in the government office of Madinat Al-Hareer and the High Committee of Structural Plan in the Cabinet. She was also a member in Housing Strategy Committee in Public Authority for Housing Welfare from 2016 till 2017.

He was the Director of Centre of Information in Council of Ministers General Secretariat from 1989 till 1900, and was a member in the Municipal Council and the board of the Public Authority for Housing Welfare.

Born in Kuwait in 1957. He holds BS in Chemical Engineering in 1982. He was the chairmanship of Kuwait Petroleum International Company and CEO of Kpc Holdings Company (Europe). He was appointed the Chairman of Board of Directors of Gulf Refining Union in Bahrain from 2016 till now. He also is a member in board of directors of Oula Fuel Marketing Company and board of directors of Kuwait Oil Company during the period between 2011 and 2012. He participated in many international conferences and forums as a principal spokesman representing the refining sector of Kuwait regarding the strategic long term plan.

Holds a Ph.D in Accounting from United Kingdom in 2002, Master’s degree in Accounting from the United States in 1997, and BS in Accounting from Kuwait University in 1994. He served as Vice Rector of Gulf University for Science and Technology for the Academic Services. He is a member in Supreme Petroleum Council 2010, CEO of Abu Dhabi Al Oula Real Estate Development Company 2009, Financial Advisor in Kuwait Stock Exchange, and Financial Advisor for United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ministry of Planning. He was appointed as a Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education in February 2012. He was appointed as Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of Education and Acting Minister of Higher Education in December 2012. Then he was re-appointed as Minister of Education and Acting Minister of Higher Education in the 32nd government, and Minister of Education and Acting Minister of Higher Education in December 2016.

Born in 1974. He holds Master’s degree in Political Science. He served in Kuwait Airways and was the Chairman of board of directors of Khaitan Co-Operative Society. In December 2012, he received a membership in the National Assembly which was announced null by Constitutional Court ruling. He also received membership in the Assembly of 2013 and 2016. He was named Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs in the latest government formed on December 10, 2016.

He is a member in Department of Legal Advice and Legislation in the Cabinet since 1995. In addition, he is a certified arbitrator at the Commercial Arbitration Center of GCC since 2004. He worked as a managing professor at Department of Law in Faculty of Commercial Studies between 2004 and 2007.
