Students Service

Alternatively, applicants may visit the headquarters of the Awqaf Public Foundation – Studies and Research Section, Studies and External Relations Department – during official working hours.

The Awqaf Public Foundation offers several scholarships to master's and doctoral students each year, and registration is open year-round.
Each application is subject to evaluation by members of the "Scientific Committee for Supporting Graduate Students in the Field of Endowment (waqf)." Evaluation is based primarily on the submitted research plans (which must be in the field of endowment (waqf) and related subjects, and approved by the academic supervisor or the university). The plan is evaluated according to several criteria, including comprehensiveness, novelty (contemporaneity), and originality.
The committee prepares a report on each applicant, explaining the reasons for its recommendation to accept or reject the application.
Upon acceptance of the application, all administrative procedures for the student will be completed, and the required pledges will be confirmed, which are:

The applicant acknowledges reviewing the regulations for supporting graduate students in the field of endowment (waqf).
The student undertakes not to receive support from any other party.
The student undertakes to print and publish the thesis.
When discussing their thesis, as well as when printing and publishing it, the student pledges to mention the support of the State of Kuwait, represented by the Awqaf Public Foundation, in providing this support. This support stems from Kuwait's role as the "coordinating state for the efforts of Islamic countries in the field of endowments (waqf)," which seeks to promote the culture of endowments (waqf) on a global level.
