Service Description

  • This service allows visitors, residents and citizens to issue a death certificate

Eligibility or Criteria

  • One of the heirs must attend the procedures
  • Death must have occurred in the State of Kuwait

Required Documents

  • riginal civil ID of the deceased and a copy, if the deceased was a Kuwaiti citizen and death was of natural causes
  • Applicant's birth certificate to prove that the deceased was his/her mother, if the deceased mother was a Kuwaiti citizen, the applicant was her son or daughter, and death was of natural causes
  • Applicant's marriage contract to prove that the deceased was his wife, if the deceased wife was a Kuwaiti citizen, and death was of natural causes
  • Original civil ID of the deceased and a copy and a copy of the passport, if the deceased was a resident and death was of natural causes
  • Letter from the embassy authorizing one person to issue the death certificate, if the deceased was a resident, had no relatives in the State of Kuwait, and death was of natural causes
  • Letter from the Central Record for Birth and Death Department to the Executive Committee for the Foreign Affairs of Illegal Residents stating the nationality of the deceased, if the deceased was a resident whose nationality was undefined and death was of natural causes
  • Death announcement from the coroner, if death was not of natural causes

Procedures

Visit the Central Record for Birth and Death Department or any of the pertaining centers according to the location of death
